The Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) and the Tulsa County Medical Society (TCMS) are here to support physicians. As professional organizations for physicians, both M.D. and D.O., we bring together healthcare professionals to collaborate, share knowledge, and advance the practice of medicine.

 

Together, we provide resources, wellness, support, social and networking opportunities. We play a crucial role in advocating for healthcare policies and supporting medical education and leadership. By fostering community and collaboration among members, our goal is to contribute to the overall improvement of health care in Tulsa and Oklahoma.

How do we support physicians?

 

Together TCMS and OSMA plays a multifaceted role in supporting physicians across various aspects of their professional lives. Here are just a few examples:

  1. Through wellness initiatives, we provide free and confidential therapy aimed at promoting the mental and emotional well-being of physicians, helping them manage stress, prevent burnout, and prioritize self-care.

  2. Advocacy efforts ensure that physicians' voices are heard in shaping healthcare policies, addressing issues affecting the practice of medicine, and advocating for the well-being of both patients and healthcare professionals.

  3. Networking and social opportunities allow physicians to connect with peers, mentors, and experts in the field, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth.

  4. Educational offerings, such as conferences, workshops, and online resources, provide physicians with opportunities to enhance their clinical skills, stay abreast of the latest medical advancements, and meet continuing education requirements.

  5. Provide medical students scholarships, leadership, and development opportunities outside of the classroom along with resident engagement and support to help build and guide the next generation of physicians.
